For chicken wings:

  • 1 kg chicken wings
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp red chili powder
  • ½ cracked black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Creole seasoning
  • ¼ cup oil or butter

For Louisiana rub:

  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tbsp dried oregano
  • ½ tbsp cayenne pepper
  • ½ tbsp cumin powder
  • ½ tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • ½ tbsp black pepper
  • ½ salt (to taste)
  • ⅔ tbsp lemon juice (optional)

It is all about the addicting dry rub seasoning that takes this dish to a whole new level. Here is the step-by-step guide to making the delicious Louisiana rub wingstop recipe, along with the baked chicken wings:

  • Start by seasoning your chicken wings in a large bowl. Add in your chicken wings along with some salt, onion powder, black pepper, red chili, oil, and creole seasoning and stir them altogether to coat the chicken wings with all the seasoning.
  • Align the seasoned chicken wings on the wire rack placed on a lined baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil once they are completely thawed and have had enough time to be seasoned. Place the baking tray in a preheated oven at 450 ºF. Allow it to bake for about 35 minutes before you flip it and return it back to the oven to bake on the other side for another 10 minutes, till it crisps up.
  • In another small bowl, mix, black pepper, cayenne pepper, cumin powder, smoked paprika, dried oregano, brown sugar, onion powder, salt, and garlic powder into the delicious Louisiana dry rub.
