How does a Pressure Cooker Work?

Thanks to physicist Denis Papin for helping bring the idea of lightning-fast cooking to the kitchen counter. Since he made his first pressure cooker in 1679, the concept of pressure cooking has been fast adopted and has most likely come to stay.

A pressure cooker is a pot that cooks food while allowing any air in nor allowing any steam to escape. The accumulation of steam in the pot increases the internal pressure and causes the contents of the pot to reach very high temperatures, making food cook far more quickly than the average time.

A pressure cooker cooks any water-based food or food that can be cooked with steam by increasing the temperature from the normal boiling temperature (100°C or 212°F) to anything between 103°C (217°F) and 121°C (250°F).

When using the Power Pressure Cooker XL be careful not to forcefully open it. When opening the Pressure Cooker XL, press the ”KEEP WARM/CANCEL” button and using tongs or rotate the Pressure Valve carefully to the OPEN position.

The safe locking lid keeps the pressure cooker locked during cooking to stop the pressure and steam from escaping.

When cleaning the lid, use the pull tab to separate the liner and gasket from the lid.

Is the Power Pressure Cooker XL good for Cooking?

A pressure cooker like any of the Power Pressure cookers that can meet the demands of fast-paced cooking without compromising the quality and taste of the food cooked deserves a position on all kitchen counters.

One other thing that makes us fond of the Power Pressure Cookers: they allow for other cooking functions that do not require much heat, steam, or speed. Such functions include “slow cooking” and “keep warm” which you can set your cooker to operate on.

This way, you will have no reason to be bothered about heat sensitive meals burning, becoming overcooked, or getting too hot than desired,

This review will show you how many features these models have aside from their pressure cooking function. It will also help you make up your mind about what particular capacity you should go for depending on your family size and the features you prefer.

Conclusion

The Power Pressure Cooker XL models may not have all the possible features there can be in a pressure cooker. Yet, they will provide you with the very essential ones.

The design of the models is appealing and similar across the 3 sizes. Except for the distinct feature each size has, they all carry out the basic function of cooking food at a fast speed and will also allow you to cook food slowly over a long time.
